Olay Quality Control Problem?

[Don’t miss out on a chance to win a full size ($39 value) True Radiance Youth Cream. Follow the link just to the right of this column to read the details.]

I always use Pro-X by Olay ever since it came on the market.

However the last jar I bought of Olay Pro-X Hydra Firming Cream: the jar had a big space of air in the middle with no cream. Therefore I only had half a jar of cream.

Does this happen often? I am very disappointed!

Olay ProX Hydra FirmingHi Hazel,

This is pretty rare and could indicate a problem with the filling machine which was not caught by P & G’s quality control procedures. That does happen occasionally.

Are you sure the package was sealed when you purchased it and that there was no sign of tampering?

In either case, you need to take the product back to the store where you purchased it. The retailer should refund your money or replace the product. The retailer should then report the issue to the company using the manufacturing lot code stamped onto the container.

When manufacturers produce a product, they do so in batches. Each batch is assigned a unique series of numbers that makes it possible for manufacturers to track exactly when a problem occurred in order to investigate. That can help them can prevent a recurrence or, in rare instances, issue a product recall.

In case you don’t get satisfaction from the vendor, contact Olay directly using their Talk to Olay page, where you’ll find contact info for e-mail, phone, or instant messenger customer support.
