In case you have difficulty understanding the British accents of the lovely interviewers, Terri Seymour and Renee Bargh, or the 90-mile an hour speech of Dr. Perricone, here are the 10 foods he recommends and how they help:

1. Watermelon – quick-acting libido stimulant;
2. Oysters – zinc helps the body synthesize testosterone which raises the sex drive in both men and women over time; in the short term, it causes the release of dopamine – a pleasure neurotransmitter:
3. Peanuts – the amino acid arginine increases blood flow to the sex organs;
4. Blueberries – increase dopamine and also benefit skin and brain;
5. Dark chocolate (60% or more cocoa) – increases levels of phenylethylamine, a neurotransmitter which stimulates hormones to create positive feelings and help us feel more loving; also great for heart health and its high levels of antioxidants;
6. Pumpkin seeds – EFAs increase brain power; serotonin helps us relax; and zinc increases libido;
7. Salmon – EFAs
8. Asparagus – increases levels of histamine which dilates the capillaries to improve blood flow;
9. Garlic – allicin increases blood flow by supporting the overall health of the circulatory system, which also may help in lowering the risk of heart attack and stroke; and
10. Avocado – EFAs.

The doctor says it’s all about relaxing and increasing blood flow, which are good things whether you’re looking for a romantic encounter or just to feel better in general.
