Keep Skin Young and Healthy with Niacinamide Products

I just read an excellent article on Cosmetics Deisign.com about Niacinamide being added to skin care products by more manufacturers.

The article reported that CoValence Laboratories will feature Niacinamide in products for acne, hyperpigmentation and redness. CoValence is a private label manufacturer which sells exclusively to skincare professionals.

The list of skin benefits for Niacinamide continues to grow.

Olay Pro-XI guess I’ll have to stop calling Niacinamide Olay’s signature ingredient (found in the Total Effects, Regenerist and Pro-X lines); though Olay was the first company to trumpet the skin benefits of this Vitamin B3 derivative.

StriVectin SD IntensiveNext StriVectin leapfrogged Olay with its version of Niacinamide.

StriVectin's NIA-114™ (Niacin-derived Myristyl Nicotinate) garnered the only Skin Cancer Foundation's 2011 Skin Sense Award for an OTC skin care product.

NIA-114™ was also chosen by the National Cancer Institute for further study as a possible skin cancer prevention agent.

StriVectin’s Niacin compound is found in StriVectin-SD products for stretch marks and wrinkles and StriVectin-TL tightening products.

I’ve previously told you that Niacinamide is a cell-communicating ingredient which:

  1. Increases the skin’s normal renovation process;

  2. Increases the skin’s level of ceramides and fatty acids to help the skin retain moisture;

  3. Promotes exfoliation;

  4. Improves skin texture, fine lines, wrinkles and hydration; and

  5. Inhibits the irregular production of melanin.

  6. Now to this list we can add:

  7. Blocks inflammatory action of iodine compounds known to exacerbate inflammatory acne.

You’ll find StriVectin-SD Intensive and four of the Niacinimide-containing Olay products in our recently updated Ageless Beauty Top Ten Affordable Skin Care Products list.

Thank you, Girlie.

One would never know from the photos of you on your blog.

You must be a pro at covering blemishes.

Have you blogged about that? I'm sure a lot of Ageless Beauty readers would love to know.
