Philosophy Eye Believe Review

Having previously written a review of Cosmedix Eye Believe serum with Spin Trap, I was surprised to see a product by philosophy with the same name – sort of.

The full name of the philosophy product is philosophy eye believe deep wrinkle peptide balm for eyes and upper lip. Phew!

Those philosophers sure do love their words, but I don’t understand what they have against capital letters. lol

The price of philosophy’s version of eye believe is a tiny fraction of the Cosmedix one. Yet it contains exactly what I look for in an eye cream: moisturizers, antioxidants, exfoliants and peptides.

Philosophy eye believe doesn’t have a stated SPF but does contain micronized Titanium Dioxide which is a physical barrier to UV rays. If you have an SPF product which does not irritate your eyes, I would suggest using that along with eye believe.

Philosophy eye believe is a silicone based gel with a nice silky feel. It contains Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate), Vitamin A (in Retinol form) and Chrysin as antioxidants. The Retinol also serves to exfoliate and stimulate collagen production.

I am a firm believer in the anti-aging power of topical peptides. Two of the peptides found in philosophy eye believe are already listed in my Cosmeceutical Peptide Glossary.

Palmitoyl Oligopeptide stimulates production of normal collagen thereby thickening the skin and plumping wrinkles from within.

Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-3 controls the body’s inflammatory response (as your own hormones did in younger days).The effect is to reverse sagging skin caused by out-of-control inflammation (glycation damage) thereby restoring skin elasticity and lifting facial contours.

The third peptide in philosophy eye believe, Myristoyl Hexapeptide-4, is new to me and is found in the latest Obagi line named ZO, as well as some Jan Marini products. Guess I have some homework to do!

In the meantime, philosophy eye believe looks like an excellent skin anti-aging value.
