I bought a jar of Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Anti-Aging Booster Eye Transforming Cream some time ago, but never even got it out of the box. Then I read that Consumer Reports selected it as the best value effective anti-wrinkle eye cream. So I bumped this review up my priority list.
The cream has a very light and silky consistency – just right for the delicate skin of the eye area. I looked at the ingredient list and – what to my surprise – the third ingredient is my new fave skin anti-aging ingredient Niacinamide!
I wrote about Niacimamide when I reviewed Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Anti-Aging Cleanser Wet Cloths.
7-in-1 Eye Cream also contains several forms of silicone which explain the light silky consistency. There is Glycerin to draw moisture into the skin, soothing Aloe Vera and an excellent antioxidant cocktail comprised of Pro-Vitamin B5 (Panthenol), Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate) and Green Tea Extract (Camellia Sinensis).
No peptides :-( which is always a disappointment to me, but the more I read about Niacimamide, the more I wonder if it might not be a very good substitute. It does so many good things for skin.
Niacimamide increases the skin’s level of ceramides and fatty acids to help the skin retain moisture - even better than occlusive and greasy petroleum jelly (Vaseline).
Niacinamide has been shown to promote exfoliation and improve skin texture, fine lines wrinkles and hydration.
Two studies have also indicated that Niacinamide inhibits the irregular production of melanin. Finally, Niacinamide is non-irritating and perfectly safe to use close to the eye.
