Nighttime Noshing: The Finale

I started my battle against the excess pounds I had put on about four months ago. You can read about my progress and what I learned along the way starting here.

Finally the conclusion …

Goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did it. I finally did it. I lost the extra weight I had been carting around. I felt frumpy. I was sluggish. When I started blogging about my weight problem in January, I thought it was mainly due to the nighttime noshing habit I had fallen into.

Turns out it was a bit more complicated than that. Yes, I was stuffing my face from dinner to lights out; but I also had turned into an exercise-phobic slug and, perhaps most importantly, I was DEPRESSED.

I knew I was depressed (small letters) about my physical condition and my excess poundage, but I didn’t even realize that I was majorly DEPRESSED (capital letters) about some other things going on in my life.

What got me out of my DEPRESSION?

1. Recognition
2. Examination
3. Baby steps and putting one foot in front of the other, over and over again
4. Journaling the progress
5. Support from friends and loved ones
6. New attitude of gratitude
