I’ve mentioned drugstore anti-aging products before. There are some top-notch products with many of the anti-aging ingredients I swear by available at your corner drugstore. I’m talking broad spectrum sun protection, multiple antioxidants, best-in-class moisturizing ingredients, exfoliants and even peptides.
My favorite such lines are Olay Regenerist and Neutrogena, especially their Copper Peptide products. I’ve also talked about the copycat store brands that follow tried and true formulas from StriVectin. CVS carries the PreVentin-AT line for example.
If you need to pare down your beauty budget or just want to be more frugal in these uncertain times, stroll down the drugstore beauty aisles reading products labels instead of impulse shopping at the mall.
Here’s one of my recent drugstore finds.
skin effects Renewing Effects Intensive Overnight Repair Cream
Skin effects Renewing Effects Intensive Overnight Repair Cream is from dermatologist Dr. Jeffrey Dover’s skin care line. I was quite impressed when I skimmed the ingredient list at the store; so thought I would give it a try.
I like it quite a lot. It is fragrance-free and quite soothing. I personally prefer a heavier night cream for my very dry skin, but this has a nice consistency. What really impressed me about it is the inclusion of both a lifting peptide (Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-3) and a wrinkle filling peptide (Palmitoyl Oligopeptide). In addition, it contains a small amount of Retinol for exfoliation and collagen stimulation.
So head on out to the drugstore next time you need a skin care product. Be sure to scan my list of Top Ten Affordable Anti-Aging Products before you go.

I love Olay beauty products in general, particularly their tanning range. My mum has always sworn by Olay when it comes to their anti-wrinkle range, the best bit is their products are never too expensive!
I used to use olay when i was younger but I had extremely terrible blemished skin so it used to make me break out even more but now that I am older I would love to try their tinted spf moisturizer. I watched this video the other day http://www.howcast.com/videos/143624-How-To-Prevent-Wrinkles and realized that to stay young and healthy all you have to do is take care of yourself.
Thank you, Ghislaine.
I really enjoyed the video. It has very good tips and, as I watched it, I kept thinking, "Yup, I have that on Ageless Beauty. Yup. Yup. Yup."
The only areas where I think I should write a bit more is re acai and goji juice.
But you're right. It is pretty basic stuff. We pretty much know what is good and bad for our health. The "bad" things, especially in excess, do damage that takes years to become obvious: UV rays, sugar, smoke, alcohol ...
On the other hand, there is a lot of exciting positive news like acai, goji juice, retinol, topical peptides ...
Plus, the fact that we're keeping on top of all these developments keeps our neurons firing and helps us maintain a positive attitude about aging!
Thank you for a great comment and link!
