Following up on last week’s Power Food blog, I thought I’d share a few tasty recipes that “fit the (power) bill”.
Work these into your holiday schedule and you’ll breeze through this hectic season feeling your best. You may even enter the New Year a few pounds lighter – unlike the majority of people who put on one pound every year at this time.
Here are recipes for Braised Hunter-Style Chicken, Mediterranean Sautéed Greens and Roasted Asparagus from The Sonoma Diet.
Here you’ll find several Mediterranean-Style Recipes: Jean’s Tuna Tamarindo; Vitamin-Rich Veggies and Fish; Savory Spinach-Stuffed Chicken; Spinach Español and Nancy’s Grilled Veggies.
Here are some Fat-Fighting Recipes incorporating many power foods: Shrimp or Chicken with Roasted Red Peppers; Jean’s Original Salmon, Peppers and Onion; and Easy Chicken Enchiladas with Avocado/Corn Salsa.
And lest we forget dessert …
You can do the simple classic – dip some extra large juicy strawberries in melted dark chocolate and put in the fridge on a piece of waxed paper to chill. Or try this elegant twist on the classic.
Dark Chocolate Raspberry Infusion
Slowly stir 1 tablespoon raspberry liqueur into 4 ounces melted dark chocolate. Gently fold in 1 pint firm fresh raspberries. Scrape the mixture into square or rectangular plastic food savers and refrigerate.
When set, pop the chocolate out of the containers. Break into serving size pieces and arrange on a serving plate.
Mangia bene!
